Anyone know a name meaning for sweet pea, or what sweet pea is called in different languages?

sweet pea was a very sentimental nick name to someone close to me. Im having a baby now...not sure if its a boy or girl yet, but i'd like to name it a word for sweet pea. Either sweet pea in a different language, or a name that means sweet pea. Anyone has ideas? thanks.

Anyone know a name meaning for sweet pea, or what sweet pea is called in different languages?
The only "pea" names I could find were:

Alawa - Native American, means pea (girl)

Channa - Indian, means chickpea (girl)

Ciceron - Latin, means chickpea (boy)

Cicero - Latin, means chickpea (boy)

You could combine a pea name with a name that means sweet:

Lailah or Laila - Arabic, meeans sweetheart or born at night (girl)

Lissa - Greek, means one who is sweet like honey; a bee (girl)

Lisha - English, means sweet, honest, truth (girl)

Jerah or Jarah - Hebrew, means sweet or sweet-smelling (boy)

So you'd have:

Lisha Alawa Smith, Laila Channah Smith, Jerah Cicero Smith, etc etc.

good luck!
Reply:The closest I could come to anything remotely usable was Swedish Lukt盲rt, and even then, I wouldn't recommend it.

If you wouldn't mind giving your daughter a name that just means "sweet," you could try the Spanish names Dulce or Dulcinea or the Basque name Esti. A possible name for a son would be the mythological Pollux, whose name means "very sweet."

Since the sweet pea is the flower traditionally associated with the month of April, what about naming your child April (if it's a girl)?

Good luck, and I hope someone comes up with a beautiful word for you in another language!
Reply:This is how you say sweet pea in these languages:

Polish: Pysiu

Dutch: Lathyrus

German: Gartenwicke

Italian: pisello odoroso

Portuguese: ervilha-de-cheiro

Serbian: Grahorica

Spanish: arveja dulce

Sweedish: lukt盲rt

Turkish:bezelye

These are names that have sweet in their meaning:

GIRL

Adoncia ... "Sweet."

Alaqua ... "Sweet gum tree."

Anika ... "Sweet-faced."

Candy ... "Sweet; candied sugar." ...

Some of these names are cute but have you thought about Sweet Pea being the nickname of your child too instead of naming it that? just a thought :)

Good Luck %26amp; God Bless %26amp; Congrats! :)
Reply:i think that is very sweet and meaningful. the bad thing is all i know is sweet pea is a flower and the name for it is Lathyrus odoratus, which is not a very pretty name. im sorry but i hope someone else on here knows a pretty way to say it in another language because thats so special.

but on second thought why not call her sweet pea as a nick name.....
