What Does The Name Lydia Mean, and Don't Say anything about The Place in Greece, I want a REAL meaning plz!?!?

I have to do a project with the meaning of my name, I've heard it means standing pool, but what does that mean?

What Does The Name Lydia Mean, and Don't Say anything about The Place in Greece, I want a REAL meaning plz!?!?
I'm going to take a stab here

Search the meaning of SABINE

You will come up with:

1. A girl from Sabine

2. A peaceful woman

After Rome was founded, the men who had built it had no women to marry. Therefore they kidnapped women from the neighboring city - Sabine

When these women's husbands came to the gates of Rome to fight for their women back, the women stepped between the two parties and calmed down their husbands, thus preventing a bloody war and creating a special meaning behind the name "Sabine

I'm assuming that Lydia is no different from this. So yes, it means "maiden from Lydia" but there is also some attribute attached to it that is important.

(btw, it doesn't mean noble in German, that's Edel (Edela, Ethel, Adeline, etc))... But maybe it does somehow denotes nobility or kindness... I don't know. I don't know the history behind it

EDIT: Re: standing pool: Maybe "standing pool" is some sort of historical reference? That is, some sort of historical site?
Reply:Means "from Lydia" in Greek. Lydia was a region on the west coast of Asia Minor. In the New Testament this was the name of a woman converted to Christianity by Saint Paul. In the modern era the name has been in use since the Protestant Reformation.
