Reply:I think it came from the name "Ophelia" from the Shakespeare play, Macbeth(?). I think Ophelia in the play drowned herself in a pond. You can look up the meaning of that name in the internet. Your parents probably Filipinized it by adding a "-lyn".

Reply:Most Filipino names are combination of Mother + Fathers name or abbreviation. Probably your mothers name ends with "lyn", so we need to solve the "Ofa". Don't tell me your mom forgot which man is your father :-)
