What is the word for a person bringing about a new meaning to their name?

What is the term for a person who brings about a new meaning whenever their name is said. For example, if "John" was a huge cheater in the school, and people said they wanted to find out whether more "John"s exist in the school (John being the new word for cheaters), what is the word category that "John" falls under?

What is the word for a person bringing about a new meaning to their name?
eponym - the name of a person, whether real or fictitious, which has (or is thought to have) given rise to the name of a particular place, tribe, era, discovery, or other item
Reply:I don't know what the word for the "person" is, but I think you're looking for "eponym" or "eponymous". Actually, now that I think about it, "John" is the eponymist. Thus "John" becomes synonymous with "cheater".
