I want to make a plaque with the meaning of the name, but I don't know where to get the info. It's for Christmas.
Anyone know the meaning of the female name Makisha?
I checked the baby name sites and Makisha appears to be a "created" name.
http://www.thinkbabynames.com/ says:
similar names are Takisha, Jakisha, Lakisha and Nakisha.
They are considered a variant of the girl's name Aisha (pronounced ah-EE-shah, AY-shah). It is of Arabic origin, and its meaning is "alive and well". Aisha was the favorite wife of the prophet Muhammad. The name is also linked to the moon goddess.
Reply:Most likely it is a "made-up" name...though I don't know that for sure...
Google the terms "name origins" or "meanings of first names"...things like that...you'll get a plethora of sites to choose from...
Reply:THAT SOUNDS LIKE AN "AROUND THE WAY"NAME LIKE.MY FINE AFRICAN AMERICAN SISTERS HAVE...IT'S PRETTY NONTHELESS...lol
